Mastering Ovulation, Understanding Cervix Was Key for New Mamas

My wife and I bought a kit, as we wanted to try to make conception as natural and non-clinical as possible. To our deepest surprise (and gratitude!), we were successful in our 1st attempt and now are expecting a baby boy in April 2020. Aside from the clear power of its design, we also loved the packaging and felt like we really were embarking on a fun colorful adventure.

How long had you been trying? We knew that we wanted to start trying in July 2019, so we took April, May and June to track T's ovulation. We used daily urine strips, took her basal temperature every morning, and even went as far as me feeling her cervix daily to see if it were high/low/firm/soft (thanks to the video we saw on your website!). Once we were able to uncover a pattern of her cycle (her LH surge came on the 15th day, post day 1 of period), we knew exactly when to book our trip to Maryland where our live donor lived. We are blessed (and thrilled) to say, we only tried once... and it worked!

Any tips or words of advice for using Mosie or words of encouragement for others on the same journey?Branching off of my reply above, knowing precisely when the LH surge will happen was key. Although we also used a basal thermometer and I felt her cervix, when it came down to it, the most reliable tracker for us were the urine ovulation strips. We also asked our donor to abstain for 6 days (since we knew the exact day in July we'd be down there), so that his volume would build up. After I used Mosie to inseminate T (as she was laying with her hips raised), I also provoked her uterus to contract since we heard this naturally pulls the semen from the vaginal canal through the cervix. I'm laughing as I type this, because it was quite the ordeal for me to hold her body up from falling off the bed, AND trying to make sure I sealed the deal regarding her uterus contractions (haha). After, T laid there for at least 30 minutes. The biggest piece of advice we could tell other couples, besides tracking the cycle with strips (and not just using an ovulation app), is totry to stay calm and just enjoy the process. Stress can be the biggest enemy.

L&T, Warmest congrats on your successful conception with Mosie! We’re seriously impressed with your excellent explanation of how you approached accomplishing your goal of starting a family. Bravo! We normally don’t include the entire question section, but we know this detail will definitely be useful to others. And we want you both to know that you are an inspiration to like-minded others! We hope everything went smoothly with your little guys arrival! We’re sure you probably have your hands full right now, but we’d love to e-meet him when you come up for air! ❤️- Marc + Mo
