My wife and I were lucky to have an amazing gay sperm-having friend with Irish heritage like my wife to help us start our family. We were so excited when he said yes (by sending us a giant rainbow penis made of fudge in the mail :))! It was our dream to have a trusted, known donor that wanted to be somewhat involved in our kid's life. However, we were dreading the possibility of a long conception journey, full of stressful fertility-tracking, disruptive 20 hr road trips, and possibly needing to escalate up to IUI and IVF. I am a little older, and we had heard horror stories about how long it might take if we needed to use the services of fertility clinics with a known donor, and wondered if it would be easier to use a sperm bank if it came to that. Our donor did some research (what an angel) and found Mosie. I was skeptical that it would make a difference, but that doubt quickly evaporated when we were successful with our very first try!! We are now in week 5 and hoping this sticks, but even if it doesn't, we know we'll trust Mosie to help us try again if needed. We are so excited to start our big queer family.
