Mosie is a syringe designed to transfer sperm at or near the cervical opening with the goal of achieving conception. Mosie is a form of ICI, intracervical insemination.
With IUI the sperm sample is “washed” in a doctor’s office and then placed in your uterus by a doctor, bypassing the cervix with a catheter syringe. And then from there, it’s up to mother nature. In the lead up to IUI your doctor will also monitor your ovaries and often prescribe medications, like Clomid.
Mosie is deceptively simple but has proven to be quite effective for many women and couples. Mosie’s slit opening and patented design have helped thousands safely inseminate at home. And we’re happy to report that based on a recent clinical study, Mosie has been proven to be as effective as IUI!
Mosie is an ideal size for dropping a sperm sample off at or near the cervical opening of most people. Ejaculation itself can fluctuate wildly and couple this with the position of the cervical opening, which can also vary…means that many people may simply be “missing” due to physical make-up.
Bottom line is that the sperm should safely arrive at or near the cervical opening with Mosie.
Often times people find themselves facing IUI and we think Mosie's a good option for many to try before going through costly procedures. Our founders, Marc and Maureen, were one of those couples (Unexplained Infertility) and that’s what led them down the path to create Mosie. Aside from that, several women and couples conceive with Mosie after failed IUI/IVF attempts and you can read a few of their stories in the Success Stories section of our website. We even had one couple that tried IUI 12 times, over many years, finally conceive with Mosie at home.
It may be for these folks, that being able to use Mosie in the comfort of their home, and on their own terms can be a stress reliever when it comes to conception. And for many it's also a stress reliever to try something a little less expensive than IUI. So whether or not you have something Mosie may help with or just need a break, this variable tends to be helpful for Mosie users!
If you're unsure if Mosie is right for you, be sure to check with your doctor before ordering. And as always feel free to reach out if we can help in any way!
